Link check: estimate the scam risk
Paste a link from an email or message. You get an estimate from 0 to 100 and see exactly why – we do not open the page itself.

What it is good for
“Your account has been locked”, “Your parcel is waiting”, “Please confirm your details”: scam emails live on links that look genuine. Often the address itself gives away the trick – one letter too many, a digit instead of a letter, a Cyrillic “а”, or the bank’s name is at the front while the actual domain belongs to someone else entirely.
This tool reads the address the way a careful person would and tells you what stands out and how much it weighs. It does not replace your judgement:
- Real banks and parcel services never ask for your password, PIN or TAN by email.
- Open important sites via your bookmark or the app instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is a link with a low number safe?
No. The number is an estimate from features of the address, not a guarantee. An inconspicuous address can still lead to a dangerous page, and a conspicuous one can be harmless. If in doubt, rely on the sender, not the number.
Do you open the page behind the link?
No, never. We only examine the address itself. Using only the domain name, our server additionally asks DNS (does the name exist, can the domain receive email, where are its name servers?) and the public RDAP service how old the domain is. We make no contact with the page itself.
Is my link stored?
No. The link is only used for the estimate and is neither stored nor logged. To curb abuse, we count requests per network address for one hour – as a keyed hash.
How is the number calculated?
Each feature adds points, the total is limited to 0 to 100. Heavy ones are, for example, a name that imitates a known brand with foreign letters (55 points), a typo domain (50) or a brand in front of someone else’s domain (40). A conspicuous ending weighs little (10) – it proves nothing on its own. Below 25 points we show “no” or “hardly any warning signs found”, from 50 “many warning signs”. Every reason is listed with its points in the result, grouped by address, brand, and domain age and technology.
Is there a database of known scam sites behind it?
No. We only use small, hand-maintained lists: well-known brands and their genuine addresses (banks, parcel services, authorities, shops, crypto exchanges), short-link services, free hosts, conspicuous endings and typical bait words. That is why a genuine brand site can appear conspicuous if its address is not on our list.
I already clicked – what now?
If you entered login details, change the password right away via the real site and switch on two-factor sign-in where possible. If you entered bank details, call your bank and have the account or card blocked. Do not download anything the page offers.
