Uploading
Large files up to 100 GB – without the stress
Drag files into the browser window or click "Upload". Large files go straight to storage in parts – several parts at once, so it is quick.

- If a part fails, it is sent again automatically

Organised your way
Folders and subfolders, renaming and moving – including whole folders with everything inside. Favourites, "Recently used" and search help you find any file quickly.

The dashboard overview splits your storage by file type. Trash and older versions are shown separately – so you know right away where to tidy up.

Share via link
Links you stay in control of
Share files and whole folders with a link. Anyone opening the link only sees what you shared – for a folder, nothing above it. You see how often it was downloaded and delete the link with one click.
- From Plus: password, expiry after 1, 7 or 30 days and a maximum number of downloads
- On every plan: "view only, no download"
- All your links in one place under "Shared by me"
- Links are long random addresses; we only store a hash of them
Share with people
Together on the same files
Give a person with a SafeDoc account access to a file or folder – to view or to edit. They get an email and find it under "Shared with me".
- Two clear rights: "can view" and "can edit"
- Change or remove rights at any time
- Recipients can leave a share themselves
- The server checks permissions on every access
- Invite people without an account by email – access only once they confirm an account with that address
Versions
Back to any version from the last 90 days
When you upload a file again, the old version is kept. From Plus, SafeDoc keeps older versions: 30 days on Plus, 90 days on Pro, Familie, Business and Business Pro. You can download or restore them.
- Restoring creates a new version – nothing is overwritten

Trash
30 days for an "oops"
Deleted files and folders go to the trash first. There you see when they will be removed for good and bring them back with one click – including everything inside a folder.
- Final deletion only after 30 days
- Delete permanently yourself beforehand to free up space
- Permanent means permanent: removed from storage too
Organisations and teams
One shared storage for your team
Create an organisation, invite colleagues by email and form teams such as "Sales" or "Accounting". You share folders with a whole team instead of each person.
- Four roles: owner, admin, member, read only
- Invitations are valid for 7 days
- Every organisation always has at least one owner
- Changes to members and roles are logged

Settings list every device your account is signed in on. A lost phone is signed out everywhere with one click.

Questions about features
Which features are available today?
With a free account: 5 GB of storage for free, upload files up to 2 GB, share via link and with people, folders, favourites, search and trash, plus the list of your signed-in devices. Built, but only included in paid plans that cannot be booked yet: files up to 100 GB, password and expiry links, versions and connect as a drive. In beta – usable, but not yet externally reviewed: the password manager in every account and the private vault in Pro, Familie and Business Pro. Create your emergency sheet and back up regularly. Organisations and teams are built; they can be created once the Business plans can be booked. Anything marked "Coming soon" is planned but not available yet.
Is there an app for Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?
Dedicated apps are planned. Today SafeDoc runs in the browser on any device. On your phone you can add SafeDoc to the home screen like an app.
What happens if my upload is interrupted?
Large files are sent in parts. If a part fails, SafeDoc sends it again as long as the browser tab stays open. Resuming after reloading the page is planned.
Can I share folders with people who have no account?
Yes, via link. Anyone with the link does not need an account. If you want to give a specific person rights to view or edit, they need their own SafeDoc account.
Do versions and the trash count towards my storage?
Yes. Older versions and files in the trash use storage until they are removed automatically when their period ends (trash 30 days, versions 30 days on Plus, 90 days on Pro, Familie, Business and Business Pro) or you delete them permanently yourself.
